Veerle De Vos’ images have a unique style and a special appearance. The visual artist is always going for an instant happiness. ÔÇ£I like to put a smile on people’s faces. Life is serious enough as it is,ÔÇØ says Veerle.
All works of art, especially her famous ÔÇ£DIKKE MADAMMENÔÇØ (Fat ladies), the lifeguard, a swimming lady with flippers, the diver or a little guy with binoculars: they all radiate the same happy atmosphere.
After a serious cycling accident during Veerle’s first triathlon in 2004, the love for color and her passion for art turned around Veerle’s life in a positive way again. ÔÇ£I suffered from severe migraines and amnesiaÔÇØ says Veerle. ÔÇ£My art became a kind of therapy which helped me smiling again. I like to share my joy with others by creatingÔÇØ
