PANAMERENKO – SPRING EXHIBITION 2026 | introducing: MECONIUM MUSEUM BY STÉPHANE HALLEUX

SPRING IS HERE; Time to defy gravity (literally or metaphorically)

Spring has officially landed at Louise Gallery in Durbuy, and we’re celebrating with a high-altitude duo. We are proud to open our Spring Expo featuring the one and only Panamarenko.

As if one mad scientist wasn’t enough, we are simultaneously launching the Meconium Museum by Stéphane Halleux in the very same building. Perched on the fairytale banks of the Ourthe, our gallery has become a sanctuary for those who believe that a dream is just a machine that hasn’t been built yet. Come and wander through this unique dialogue of mechanical wonders. The view of the Ourthe is free; the inspiration is mandatory.

The Modern-Day Da Vincis.

  • Panamarenko is our 20th-century Icarus, but with better engineering and a lot more humor. He didn’t just want to fly; he wanted to reinvent the very idea of it.
  • Stéphane Halleux follows that same visionary path, creating a “Meconium” universe where past and future collide. His characters look like they’ve escaped from a lost Da Vinci sketchbook, only to find themselves lost in a high-tech tomorrow.

Both artists share that rare, visionary spark: they look at the world, find it a bit too “normal,” and decide to fix it with humor, poetry, and a screwdriver. They are the bridge between the pioneering spirit of the past and the infinite possibilities of the future.
